EpiLife is an abbreviation for Göteborgs epidemiologiska centrum för forskning om samspel mellan mental och fysisk hälsa i ett livstidsperspektiv. (Gothenburg's Epidemiological Centre For Research On Interaction Between Mental And Physical Health From a Lifetime Perspective) The research is based on comprehensive population studies that have been carried out in Gothenburg since the 1960s. The databases comprise detailed information concerning more than 20,000 people born in the years 1900-1990.

The Centre's education has four areas of work:

  • Psychosocial factors and cardiovascular diseases
  • Mental diseases during the life cycle
  • Overweight and obesity during the life cycle
  • Cognitive function – from normality to dementia

Funding: EpiLife was founded in 2007 as one of ten prominent FAS centres, the research area for working life and social research, in Sweden.
